Kiss Me Awake by Julie Momyer

About the Book:

"Abandoned at birth, Jaida Martin sets out to find her biological mother, but when her search threatens to expose a prominent political figure’s past, she finds herself in the crosshairs of a ruthless murderer and the pawn in a multimillion dollar conspiracy.

Her troubles multiply when Spencer Gordon, the man she walked out on, shows up at her door unannounced, exposing her own past, and the heart she sought to keep safe from him is vulnerable once again.

Will she find what she’s really looking for? Or will an unexpected betrayal and the deception that drives her destroy everything she has?"

My Review

I confess when I first started reading this book, there were a few things that while very tame in comparison to today's romance reads, I was a bit surprised with. The book really kept up my interest though otherwise, and I was compelled to continue. I am really glad I did!

As the story unravels, I began to see very clearly that the heroine (Jaida), who was not a Christian, did things that are evident of that life (just like we all have done before we were saved). These actions, while Ms. Momyer did not go into detail concerning, certainly paints her as a believable, realistic character that is truly struggling and searching for meaning in her life. It makes the conclusion so much the sweeter as we follow Jaida in her quest for truth in her own personal life and in solving a murder.

I thought the twists and turns, suspense, and Christian elements made it a great book--I loved reading it! Definitely Ms. Momyer will be added to my list of authors that I want to read other books from!

Thank you to NetGalley and Goody 2 Shoes Publications for allowing me to preview the book--the opinions which I wrote are my own.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
