Slave Again by Alana Terry

Slave Again
About the Book:

She traded in her prison uniform for shackles of a different kind.

After escaping a North Korean prison camp, Mee-Kyong is hustled over the border and sold into the Chinese underworld. She vows to survive, but sheer determination and willpower won’t save her this time. Is she fated to remain a slave forever?

Slave Again is written by Christian suspense novelist Alana Terry, winner of numerous awards, including the Women of Faith writing contest and the Readers’ Favorite gold medal for religious fiction. It is offered at this special introductory price for a limited time.

* This book has some Christian characters and themes but was written with a broad audience in mind.

My Review:

Within about 24 hours, I had read the story--it was that gripping and powerful!! This is the first book I have read by Ms. Terry, but it won't be the last--she is a powerful and terrific writer! It makes my heart so sad that human trafficking exists, and this story inspires me to want to do more for those who have been caught up in this terrible thing. The characters are so authentic, and in several places I found that the dialogue was so human--not contrived but was the dialogue you would really hear between people talking. It truly made me think about how platitudes and pat answers that we as Christians offer to those who have seen the grittier side of life are not enough--and to those people do not seem authentic. We need to meet people where they are--at one time we were once lost too. This story really is impacting--read it--you won't be disappointed!

Thank you to Alana Terry for allowing me to review her book--the opinions and thoughts are my own.
