About the Book

Human Trafficking…Asha knew nothing about it before meeting 16-year-old Rani, stolen from her home and forced into prostitution in Kolkata, India. Asha must help this girl escape, but Mark, a 3rd generation missionary, keeps warning her away from the red-light district and its workers. Will she ever discover why? And will they ever stop their intense arguments long enough to admit their even more intense feelings for one another?

When Asha sneaks out one last time in a desperate attempt to rescue her friend, someone follows her through the night. Is freedom possible? Or will she, too, become one of the stolen?

My Review:

Wow, what an amazing story about missionary work and a topic that the church NEEDS to talk about: sex trafficking! While it is a very weighty topic, the author does an excellent job of not dwelling on the details of it, but rather on the rescuing of a woman from the throes of the red-light district--whether it will happen or not (not only physically but also spiritually). Walking away from the story I find myself inspired how I can help more. I really enjoyed reading the book and would highly recommend it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
